South Bend, Indiana – A stretch of sunny, dry weather will offer near-perfect conditions across northern Indiana through Memorial Day, with highs climbing into the upper 60s and low 70s. Cooler air will persist near Lake Michigan, where highs may hover in the 60s.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, skies will clear throughout Sunday with dry and slightly warmer conditions building into Monday. Memorial Day will be the warmest of the stretch, with highs between 68–72°F and minimal cloud cover.
Tuesday brings the return of rain, with a 40–60% chance of showers developing from the south by the afternoon. Areas like Fort Wayne, Warsaw, and South Bend could see wet pavement by the evening commute. Rain chances taper slightly into Wednesday, but scattered showers may still impact northern counties.
Travelers heading home Tuesday should allow extra time and stay updated on conditions. While widespread flooding isn’t expected, slick roads and reduced visibility are possible during heavier showers.
More showers may linger into midweek, but drier and more stable air is expected to return later in the week. Updates will follow as the midweek system develops.
