South Bend, Ind. – Northern Indiana will enjoy a mild and mostly sunny Memorial Day weekend, with lakeside areas remaining noticeably cooler than inland towns.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, highs will range from the upper 50s to upper 60s through Monday, peaking between 65–70°F on Memorial Day. Today’s sunshine will give way to partly cloudy skies on Sunday, but dry conditions are expected throughout the region.

Cities like South Bend, Fort Wayne, and Warsaw can expect daytime highs in the upper 60s, while shoreline towns such as Michigan City and LaPorte will stay cooler, with breezes off Lake Michigan keeping temperatures closer to the low 60s. Overnight lows will drop into the 40s inland, so residents planning outdoor activities or camping should bring layers.

Travelers are advised to check local park and beach conditions before heading to the lake, as water temperatures remain cold. Light jackets are recommended, especially for evening events.

Warm and pleasant conditions will continue into Memorial Day, with sunshine returning and no major weather disruptions expected. The next update will follow Monday morning, but no advisories are currently in effect.
