KOKOMO, IN – A Peru man has been sentenced to a 40-year prison Thursday, after using fake personas to target underage victims. Kegan Kline, known as “anthony_shots” and “Emily Ann,” admitted to using fake personas online to solicit sexually explicit content from girls between the ages of 12 and 18.
Kline’s case attracted national attention when investigators discovered his communication with Libby German before the tragic Delphi murders in 2017. Although Richard Allen was charged with the murders, Kline’s online activities remained a subject of interest.
During the sentencing hearing, Kline expressed remorse for his actions, stating that loneliness drove him to create the fake profiles. However, prosecutors believe there are potentially dozens or even hundreds more victims beyond the identified six.
Kline pleaded guilty to 25 charges in March, including child exploitation, possession of child pornography, and obstruction of justice.
The Indiana State Police, amid a lengthy and complex murder investigation, received numerous media inquiries related to “anthony_shots” and the subsequent identification of Kegan Kline. Kline’s association with the Delphi murders case has been under scrutiny, although he has not been officially charged in connection with it.
