Fishers, IN – A 31-year-old Indianapolis man was taken into custody early Monday morning following a deadly shooting at Britton Tavern in Fishers, Indiana.

According to the Fishers Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:45 a.m. near 14005 Mundy Drive. Upon arrival, police discovered a male victim, believed to be around 30 years old, inside the bar with a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts by medics and officers, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, identified as Maclean Murt of Indianapolis, was located at the scene and arrested on a preliminary charge of murder. Authorities say Murt allegedly remained at the tavern following the incident. Police have not yet released a possible motive in the shooting.

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim once family notification is complete.
