Sellersburg, IN — Indiana State Police arrested a Clark County man Thursday on allegations of possessing child sexual abuse material.
According to Indiana State Police, the investigation began in July when detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) section launched a criminal probe after receiving a tip regarding a person allegedly in possession of illegal material. Working with the Child Rescue Coalition, investigators identified the suspect as Adam Metzger, 40, of Sellersburg.
On Thursday, detectives served search warrants at Metzger’s home, where he was allegedly found with evidence linked to the investigation. Authorities said Metzger was preliminarily charged with two counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, a Level 5 felony in Indiana. He was transported to the Clark County Jail following his arrest. Police noted the case remains active and additional charges are possible.
The Indiana ICAC Task Force, overseen by Indiana State Police, is a statewide initiative that investigates and prosecutes cases involving the online exploitation and enticement of children. Authorities urged residents to report suspected child exploitation through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) or their local law enforcement agency.
Indiana State Police emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
