Louisville, KY – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday for parts of south-central Indiana and north-central Kentucky, where accumulating snow is expected to create hazardous travel conditions through the night and into the Friday morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, 1 to 4 inches of snow are forecast across the region, with the heaviest totals — 3 to 4 inches — expected in southeastern Indiana and northern Kentucky, including portions of the northern Bluegrass region.

Cities such as Madison, Shelbyville, Frankfort, Georgetown, and Lexington could see slick roads and reduced visibility as snow develops Thursday evening and continues into early Friday.

Forecasters warn that bridges and overpasses will likely become icy first, and that travel conditions could deteriorate quickly after sunset Thursday.

Motorists are urged to slow down and allow extra time for the Friday commute. For updated road conditions, visit 511in.org in Indiana or goky.ky.gov in Kentucky.
