Cincinnati, OH – Residents across the Ohio Valley should prepare for a blustery start to Sunday as strong winds sweep through the region overnight. The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio, has issued a Wind Advisory from 3 a.m. to noon EDT Sunday, affecting large portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, including Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and northern Kentucky suburbs.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), south winds between 15 and 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected through Sunday morning. The advisory covers more than 50 counties, including Wayne, Franklin, Hamilton, Montgomery, Butler, Warren, Boone, and Kenton.
Forecasters say the strongest gusts will occur before noon as a weather front moves across the area. The NWS warns that tree limbs could be blown down, potentially leading to scattered power outages and hazardous driving conditions for high-profile vehicles.
Officials urge residents to secure outdoor furniture, trash bins, and decorations before winds increase overnight. Drivers should also use extra caution, particularly on bridges and open roadways.
Wind speeds are expected to ease by early afternoon Sunday, but forecasters note cooler temperatures may follow behind the front.
