Cincinnati, Ohio – A volatile line of storms moving through the Ohio Valley Wednesday morning has placed much of the Cincinnati and Dayton region under a Tornado Watch, with conditions capable of producing damaging winds and isolated tornadoes before noon.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Tornado Watch 41 remains in effect until noon Wednesday for large portions of southwest Ohio, southeast Indiana, and northern Kentucky. The watch includes major population centers such as Cincinnati, Dayton, Hamilton, and Middletown as storms continue tracking east across the region.

In Ohio, counties under the watch include Hamilton, Butler, Warren, Montgomery, Miami, Shelby, and Darke among others. Northern Kentucky counties such as Boone, Kenton, Campbell, and Grant are also included, along with southeast Indiana communities including Richmond, Lawrenceburg, Batesville, and Rising Sun.

Heavy downpours and strong wind gusts may create sudden hazards along major travel routes including Interstate 75, Interstate 71, and Interstate 275 around the Cincinnati metro. Local emergency managers advise residents to remain indoors during storms and monitor alerts in case warnings are issued.

A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornado development. The severe threat should gradually shift east around midday, though additional warnings may be issued if storms intensify.
