Marion, IN – A stolen shipment worth $700,000 in Bitcoin mining machines has been recovered after a multi-agency undercover operation spanning Indiana and Chicago, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

The theft was first reported on October 2, 2025, by “Your Choice Ever Best,” a Bitcoin mining operation based in Grant County. Deputies said a semi-trailer carrying 1,000 Bitcoin mining machines had been hijacked.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, investigators traced the stolen cargo to the Chicago area and launched an undercover operation to recover it. Working with the Marion Police Department, Chicago Police, and the JEAN Team DTF Sheriff unit, detectives successfully retrieved the full shipment last week.

Bitcoin mining machines are specialized computer systems used to verify cryptocurrency transactions and secure blockchain networks, authorities explained.

During the same investigation, detectives also disrupted an attempted theft of $75,000 worth of frozen turkeys, officials said.

Sheriff Del Garcia credited his department’s detectives for their “dedication and aggressive work,” adding that the case remains under investigation with potential international ties. No arrests have been made as of Monday.

Anyone with information related to the theft is urged to contact the Grant County Sheriff’s Office or submit an anonymous tip to Grant County Crime Stoppers at (765) 662-TIPS (8477).
