Indiana Homeowner Subdues Intruder in Early Morning Residential Break-In

Logansport, IN – A Logansport man physically restrained an alleged intruder early Tuesday morning after discovering him inside his home, leading to the suspect’s arrest by local authorities.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call around 5:55 a.m. reporting that a homeowner had subdued an unknown male on the second floor of his residence in the 1300 Block of Kiesling Road. Officers from the Logansport Police Department arrived within minutes and found 42-year-old James Bibby II being held down by the resident.

Investigators said Bibby allegedly entered the home without permission and was not known to the occupants, which included two adults and three children. Authorities added that Bibby appeared to have no clear motive or connection to the household.

Bibby was arrested at the scene and transported to the Cass County Detention Center. He faces a level 6 felony charge of Residential Entry.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant John O’Connor at 574-753-7800.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
