Boone County, IN – A bicyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident on May 30th in Boone County, prompting the sheriff’s office to seek public assistance in identifying the suspect and vehicle involved. The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. on County Road 1100 East, just south of State Road 32.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the bicyclist was struck from behind by a black motor vehicle traveling at high speed while the victim was southbound on County Road 1100 East. The impact rendered the bicyclist unconscious and resulted in severe injuries, including broken bones and extensive bruising. The sheriff’s office was not notified of the incident until June 4th, as it was initially reported in Hamilton County.
Investigators have exhausted all leads and are now turning to the public for help. They are specifically looking for any surveillance video from the area around the time of the accident and any information that could lead to the identification of the vehicle or suspect. Another bicyclist who witnessed the event reported that the suspect’s vehicle was a black motor vehicle.
