Indianapolis, IN – Hot and humid conditions are expected in Indiana through Tuesday, with heat indices reaching as high as 105 degrees. Periodic chances for thunderstorms are also forecasted, with a low risk of severe storms.

According to the US National Weather Service Indianapolis, Sunday will see highs between 88-95 degrees with a maximum heat index of 102. Monday’s highs are expected to range from 91-96 degrees, reaching a heat index of 105. Tuesday will bring slightly cooler temperatures with highs between 86-94 degrees and a heat index of up to 105.

Residents are advised to take precautions to stay safe in the extreme heat. The Weather Service emphasizes the importance of never leaving pets or kids in cars, taking breaks inside, staying hydrated, and protecting pets from the heat.

Wednesday will see a slight chance of thunderstorms with a high of 85 degrees. The heat will taper off towards the end of the week, with highs in the low 80s on Thursday and Friday.
