Fort Wayne, IN — A warm spell is expected in Fort Wayne through Thursday, with highs reaching the mid-80s. However, a strong cold front is forecasted to sweep through the area early Friday, bringing with it potential showers and a few storms.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Friday’s high is expected to range between 71-81°F, with the cold front introducing much cooler conditions for the weekend. On Saturday, temperatures are expected to dip further, reaching highs of just 62-66°F, along with breezy conditions.

Sunday will bring a slight warm-up, with mostly sunny skies and highs between 68-70°F. Residents should prepare for these cooler temperatures by keeping an eye on Friday’s forecast, as showers and storms could impact outdoor plans. The significant drop in temperatures is a stark change from the warm conditions earlier in the week, making this a true autumn chill settling into the region.
