Indianapolis, IN – A Flood Warning remains in effect for several areas along the White River, impacting communities like Noblesville, Anderson, and Petersburg. Major flooding is occurring due to heavy rainfall that brought 5 to 9 inches of water over the weekend. This rainfall has caused significant water levels to rise along the river, with the crest expected to reach Petersburg by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, the White River is currently experiencing major flooding from Spencer downstream. Minor to moderate flooding continues to affect areas like Noblesville, with water levels forecasted to drop below flood stage by Tuesday morning.

Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to stay alert, as heavy rainfall could bring additional water into already flooded zones. As of 10:00 PM Monday, the river stage near Nora was 15.3 feet, and additional flooding is expected until Wednesday morning.

Authorities have urged drivers to avoid flooded areas and heed roadblock warnings. Floodwaters have already impacted local businesses and residential areas in low-lying neighborhoods.

Flood warnings remain in place for multiple locations along the White River, including near Newberry, Spencer, and Hazleton.
