Indianapolis, IN – A flood warning continues in effect for several counties in southern Indiana as previous heavy rainfall continues to cause flooding.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning is now extended until noon EDT on Tuesday, April 8. The affected areas include parts of south central, southeast, and southwest Indiana, with counties such as Daviess, Greene, Jackson, Jennings, Knox, Lawrence, Martin, and Sullivan experiencing significant flooding.

Flooding is occurring along rivers, creeks, and streams, with numerous roads closed due to high water levels. Local media have reported water rescues, further highlighting the risks to public safety. The National Weather Service also notes that flooding impacts will persist, though no additional rainfall is expected.

Areas expected to experience flooding include Vincennes, Seymour, Bedford, Washington, North Vernon, and several other towns. Residents are urged to avoid driving through flooded roads and to stay informed on local updates.
