Indiana Fatal Police Chase: Stolen Jeep Ends in Deadly Rollover Crash

Cass County, IN – A pursuit initiated by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office early this morning resulted in a fatal crash, now under investigation by the Indiana State Police.

According to Indiana State Police, the incident began around 6:30 a.m. when a Cass County deputy attempted to stop a 2019 Jeep Compass for speeding on State Road 29, just south of Logansport. 

The driver failed to stop, leading to a high-speed chase that continued into Carroll County. Near County Road 600 North, the Jeep veered off the road, struck a tree, and rolled over, resulting in the driver’s death at the scene.

The driver’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Further investigation revealed that the Jeep had been reported stolen from Monticello. The Monticello Police Department is handling the vehicle theft investigation.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation. The incident remains under investigation.
