According to a press release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers responded at approximately 9:36 p.m. to reports of a male suffering from multiple stab wounds. Upon arrival, officers located the victim and transported him to a local hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Authorities say detectives with the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Technicians responded to the scene to interview witnesses and canvass the area for video and additional evidence. An adult male was allegedly detained at the scene as a person of interest in connection with the investigation. Homicide detectives are continuing interviews to determine what may have led up to the stabbing.
