Deputies identified the Chrysler’s driver as 19-year-old Delorean Mason of Bainbridge, Indiana. Her 11-year-old passenger was also in the car at the time. Both were trapped inside and had to be extricated by firefighters before being airlifted to Indianapolis hospitals with serious injuries.
The Silverado was driven by 35-year-old Michael Klish of Louisville, Kentucky, who deputies had previously clocked at 85 mph. Klish suffered serious injuries and was transported first to Parkview Logansport, then later to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. After being released, he was booked into the Cass County Detention Facility on multiple charges, including operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury, reckless driving, and possession of marijuana.
Authorities said both vehicles sustained major damage and had to be towed from the scene. The roadway was partially closed for about an hour during the investigation and cleanup.
