Indianapolis, IN – Breezy spring weather across Indiana is taking a sharp turn as a cold front moves through the region overnight, bringing much cooler temperatures and strong wind gusts by early Tuesday.

According to the US National Weather Service in Indianapolis, temperatures that reached into the low 70s on Monday will drop significantly by Tuesday morning, with overnight lows expected in the low 40s and daytime highs struggling to reach the mid-50s. Gusts could reach up to 40 mph in parts of central and southern Indiana, particularly around Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Columbus.

The weather service warns that Tuesday will be notably windy, especially in open areas and on elevated roadways. Motorists should use caution, particularly those driving high-profile vehicles. Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor objects such as patio furniture, trash bins, and lawn decorations.

By Wednesday, temperatures are expected to slightly rebound with highs in the low 60s, but overnight lows will remain chilly in the upper 30s.
