Greencastle, IN — Multiple bridge closures are scheduled across Putnam County beginning early September as part of an ongoing infrastructure improvement effort, officials announced this week.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Bridge #191 on 1000S east of 625E will close on or around Sept. 1, 2025, for a full replacement. The closure is expected to last about one month, depending on weather conditions and construction progress.

Bridge #124, located on 150W south of the Buzzi Cement plant, will close on or around Sept. 8, 2025, for similar work. That project is expected to take up to 60 days. Following the completion of that bridge, crews will shift to repair Bridge #122 and then Bridge #123, all within the same 60-day timeframe.

Sheriff Scott Baugh said the county appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during the repair work. He urged drivers to plan alternate routes and pay attention to local traffic advisories while construction is underway.

The bridge projects are part of a larger countywide effort to replace aging infrastructure. Officials said favorable weather will play a key role in determining how quickly the work can be completed.

Residents can receive real-time notifications about closures and progress updates through the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office mobile app.
