Fort Wayne, IN – A blast of Arctic air will grip Indiana this week, bringing dangerously low wind chills and multiple chances for snow. Residents should prepare for subzero conditions and icy roads.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will be partly sunny but bitterly cold, with a high of just 16°F and wind chills as low as -5°F. Snow chances increase Wednesday afternoon into the evening, with a 50% chance of accumulation and a low near 8°F.

Thursday will stay cold with a high near 21°F and another chance of snow, tapering off by the evening. Friday and Saturday will see slightly warmer temperatures, reaching the mid-20s, but wind chills will remain well below freezing.

Gusty winds up to 25 mph will worsen conditions, causing blowing snow and reduced visibility, especially on open roads and highways. Commuters should allow extra travel time and check for updated road conditions.

Emergency officials urge residents to dress in layers, limit outdoor exposure, and prepare vehicles for extreme cold. Frostbite and hypothermia risks will be elevated throughout the week.
