Indianapolis, IN — A 37-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a bar fight earlier this month that left another man hospitalized in critical condition.
According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), Terence Lambert was taken into custody on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, by the Violent Crime Unit without incident. He was wanted on an active warrant for aggravated battery following an August 16th incident.
Just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a disturbance at a bar in the 8800 block of S Emerson Avenue. When they arrived, police found 31-year-old David Risley unconscious on the ground. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Aggravated assault detectives from IMPD continued the investigation, reviewing video footage and speaking with several cooperative witnesses. The evidence was submitted to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, which issued a warrant for Lambert’s arrest on August 20.
Authorities have not released additional details on the circumstances leading to the altercation. No other suspects have been named at this time.
Police emphasized that an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and Lambert is presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in court.
