Independence Day Forecast: Rain Expected in Northern Minnesota, Northwest Wisconsin

Duluth, MN – Northern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin can expect a rainy Independence Day, with the best chance for rain around the Duluth area after 7 PM. The US National Weather Service in Duluth forecasts increased chances of rain south of Duluth and Hibbing, with the highest likelihood of non-severe thunderstorms also in the south.

According to the latest guidance, rain will likely reach further north compared to previous forecasts. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-70s throughout the day. Brainerd Lakes region has a 50% chance of daytime thunderstorms, while moderate to locally heavy rainfall is anticipated tonight into Friday morning for northwest Wisconsin.

The forecast indicates a wide range of potential precipitation amounts, from 0.1 to 1.5 inches in various locations. Areas south of US Highway 2 are expected to see the most significant rainfall, while regions north will experience less.

Residents are advised to prepare for wet conditions during evening celebrations. The forecast trend shows variability, so checking for updates is recommended. This rain pattern continues through the weekend, with chances of rain on Saturday and Sunday, accompanied by temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to mid-70s.
