Lincoln, IL – The National Weather Service in Central Illinois reports that while a few light sprinkles or showers will pass through parts of the region this weekend, most areas will remain dry until early next week.
Forecasters say Saturday will stay cloudy, with highs in the upper 50s to near 60°F and lows tonight dipping into the mid-40s. A few sprinkles or light showers may develop across portions of Interstate 72, though measurable rainfall is not expected.
Sunday and Monday will remain mostly dry, featuring highs in the low to mid-60s and seasonable temperatures overnight. By Tuesday, however, a stronger system is expected to bring a 50–60% chance of widespread rain, particularly along and south of I-74.
The NWS notes that temperatures will stay near normal through Tuesday, making for a mild and cloudy end to October before rain becomes more widespread midweek.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated with the US National Weather Service Central Illinois for timing details as the next rain system approaches.
