Chicago, IL – Blustery winter conditions are expected tonight across the Chicago area, but forecasters say the brief calm that follows will be short-lived, with snow chances lining up for three consecutive days next week.

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, scattered wind-whipped snow showers will continue Saturday night, with overnight lows falling into the low 20s. Some areas may also see early Sunday flurries, especially northwest of the city, before conditions quiet down.

Sunday and Monday will offer a temporary break, with mostly dry weather and highs climbing into the low to mid-40s by Monday. However, that break won’t last long.

Forecasters say additional precipitation chances return Monday night, with light snow or snow showers possible, followed by another round Tuesday as breezy conditions move in. By Wednesday, colder air and lake-enhanced snow potential could bring yet another chance for snow, particularly northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

While no major snowstorm is currently forecast, the pattern suggests three straight days with snow chances, which could lead to periodic slick travel, especially during overnight and early morning hours.

Temperatures will fluctuate through the period, with highs ranging from the mid-40s Tuesday to the low 30s by Wednesday, increasing the risk for snow sticking at times, especially outside the city.

Residents across Chicago, Cook County, Will County, Lake County, and nearby parts of northwest Indiana are encouraged to stay weather-aware as the week progresses.

Drivers should be prepared for changing road conditions, particularly if snow showers overlap with commuting hours.
