Chicago, IL – After a stretch of brisk mornings, northern Illinois is set to enjoy seasonable fall weather this weekend — but rain could return early next week.

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, Sunday will bring more sunshine and highs between 57°F and 63°F, with light winds and dry skies. Lows Sunday night are expected to dip into the upper 30s to mid-40s, especially inland from Lake Michigan.

Monday will continue the mild trend, with highs near 60°F under mostly sunny skies. However, forecasters are tracking a passing storm system that will likely bring 30–50% chances of rain by Tuesday, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

By Wednesday, conditions are expected to cool slightly, with highs in the low to mid-50s and lingering clouds or isolated showers possible.

Meteorologists note that overall conditions remain typical for late October, with no severe weather anticipated. Residents are encouraged to check local forecasts as the next front approaches midweek.
