Chicago, IL – A mix of mild temperatures and breezy conditions will dominate much of Illinois through midweek, with brief chances for rain around Chicago and northern counties.
According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, today through Wednesday will feature highs ranging from the upper 50s to low 70s depending on location, with cooler readings—around 50°F—near Lake Michigan. Most of the state is expected to remain dry, but isolated showers could develop late tonight and again Sunday evening, especially near the Wisconsin border.
Monday brings a slight chance of morning showers mainly south of I-80, while Tuesday stays dry but breezy, with highs dipping into the low 50s. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 30s to mid-40s, and potentially the lower 30s in rural or outlying areas by Tuesday morning.
Residents should prepare for gusty winds starting Sunday and continuing into Tuesday. Secure outdoor furniture and drive cautiously on open roads.
Though widespread rain is unlikely, light rain could return Wednesday with a 20–40% chance. Those commuting early or traveling near Lake Michigan should plan for sudden weather changes and dress in layers to adjust for temperature shifts.
