Champaign, IL – A bitterly cold night is ahead for Champaign as temperatures drop to 4°F, with wind chills as low as -3°F. Residents should bundle up and take precautions against frostbite, especially during the early morning hours.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will bring sunny skies with a high of 30°F, though wind chills could make it feel much colder in the morning. A gradual warm-up is expected through the weekend, with highs reaching 35°F on Saturday and 45°F by Sunday. Winds will increase, with gusts up to 21 mph on Saturday afternoon.
Monday will continue the warming trend, with temperatures climbing to 55°F under partly sunny skies. By Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will reach the low to mid-50s, but rain chances increase midweek.
Residents should prepare for cold conditions tonight but expect relief as the weekend progresses. Those planning outdoor activities should dress in layers and be aware of increasing winds.
