Mundelein, IL – A 41-year-old woman was hospitalized late Tuesday morning after being struck by a Canadian National freight train near the Mundelein Metra Station, police said.

According to the Mundelein Police Department, officers responded to the area of 205 North Archer Avenue at 11:27 a.m. on October 28, 2025, following reports of a pedestrian hit by a train. First responders found the woman suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

She was treated at the scene by the Mundelein Fire Department before being taken to Condell Hospital for further care.

The Maple Avenue (Route 176) rail crossing was temporarily closed during the on-site investigation but reopened just before 12:30 p.m., according to officials.
