DuPage County, IL – A fatal crash on Interstate 55 near Lemont Road caused a major traffic disruption Sunday morning in DuPage County, with all northbound lanes currently shut down, according to Illinois State Police.
Troopers responded to the scene early Sunday after the incident was reported near the Lemont Road exit. According to Illinois State Police Troop 3, all I-55 northbound traffic is being diverted off the highway at the I-355 interchange. In addition, the ramps connecting I-355 to northbound I-55 are also closed to motorists.
Details regarding the number of vehicles involved and the circumstances leading to the crash have not yet been released. Authorities have not provided information on the identity of the person killed, pending notification of family.
