Chicago, IL –A limited risk of thunderstorms is expected across parts of northern and central Illinois tonight, with isolated lightning strikes possible. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for portions of Illinois and northwest Indiana.

According to the NWS Chicago/Romeoville, scattered thunderstorms may develop along and west of a Mendota-to-Paxton line this evening. However, severe weather is not expected at this time. Areas north of I-74, including Peoria, Champaign, and Bloomington, could also experience isolated storms.

Looking ahead, weather conditions across the region are expected to stabilize, with no hazardous weather forecast from Tuesday through Sunday. In Wisconsin, the NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan warns of potential ice jams on rivers due to thinning ice and rainfall, which could persist through midweek.

Residents are advised to stay aware of changing weather conditions and remain cautious while traveling in areas prone to sudden thunderstorms or river ice jams. No spotter activation is anticipated for this event.
