Des Plaines, IL – Illinois State Police (ISP) are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman whose body was discovered in the Skokie River more than 20 years ago.
On July 12, 2003, authorities found a deceased female floating in the river about a quarter-mile south of Willow Road in the Erickson Woods / Skokie Lagoons area near Northfield and Winnetka. The body was found south of Lagoon No. 1 and the dam on the Skokie River, close to the North Branch Trail System.

She was approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighed between 100 and 150 pounds, and had long, dark hair. Dental records indicate she had a fixed porcelain metal bridge replacing two missing front teeth, possibly due to a past injury.
