Chicago, Illinois – Two men are facing felony charges in connection with separate crashes that left victims seriously or fatally injured in Chicago.

According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges on August 5 and 6, 2025, in two unrelated incidents investigated by ISP’s Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1.

The first crash occurred February 2, when troopers responded to a hit-and-run in the 8000 block of S. Lafayette Avenue, just off I-94. Authorities said a white Jaguar struck a pedestrian before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. Following an investigation, ISP identified the driver as 32-year-old Antonio Jackson of Chicago. He was charged with Failure to Report Accident/Injury (Class 2 Felony) and Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury Crash (Class 4 Felony). Jackson remains in custody pending his first court appearance.

In a separate case, ISP responded on August 5 to a fatal crash on I-94 southbound at 95th Street. Preliminary reports state that 47-year-old Alassane Tchandikou of Hinsdale exited his vehicle after a collision and was struck by a passing Kia, later succumbing to his injuries. The Kia’s driver, 34-year-old Marques D. Worrell of Chicago, was also hospitalized. ISP said Worrell was later charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Resulting in Death (Class 2 Felony). He was arrested on August 6 and has since been released following his first court appearance.

Authorities emphasize that the charges are not evidence of guilt and that both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
