Chicago, Illinois – Wind gusts up to 25 mph and lingering showers will keep much of northern Illinois on alert Saturday as SPRING weather patterns shift again.

According to the National Weather Service in Romeoville, scattered showers will move through the region Saturday afternoon, with gusty north winds sweeping across Cook, DuPage, and Lake counties. While severe weather isn’t expected, isolated thunderstorms may still develop southwest of Chicago. Wind gusts near 25 mph could impact drivers along I-55, I-290, and Lake Shore Drive.

Saturday starts partly sunny, but rain chances increase by night. Winds from the north-northeast will remain steady between 10 to 15 mph. If you’re headed outdoors or traveling, keep jackets and umbrellas handy. By Saturday night, rain chances drop to 20%, but it won’t last long.

Showers return Sunday night, with a 60% chance of rain and highs near 52°F. Monday brings scattered showers again before temperatures rise slightly Tuesday and Wednesday.
