Montgomery, IL – Police are searching for a man accused of violently stabbing a pregnant woman and injuring her unborn child during an attack Saturday morning in Montgomery.

According to the Montgomery Police Department, officers responded around 8:30 a.m. Saturday to the 2200 block of Jericho Road for reports of a stabbing. Authorities said the woman suffered multiple stab wounds, and both she and her unborn child were transported to a local hospital, where they remain in critical but stable condition.

Investigators identified the suspect as Ricardo Perez-Fuentes, 39. Police said Perez-Fuentes allegedly fled the scene in an unknown manner following the stabbing and remains at large. He is described as a Hispanic male between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds, with dark hair. He was last seen wearing dark pants and a dark jacket.

Authorities are warning the public not to approach Perez-Fuentes, as he may be armed. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
