Illinois “No Kings” Rallies Set for Saturday October 18: Peaceful Marches Planned Across Chicago Area

Chicago, IL – Demonstrators across Illinois are expected to take part in “No Kings” protests this Saturday, October 18, as part of a national movement opposing what organizers describe as executive overreach by President Trump.

Protests are planned in more than 25 states, with flagship gatherings in Washington, D.C., and dozens of local marches across Illinois. According to organizers, peaceful rallies will be held in Chicago, Naperville, Joliet, Bolingbrook, Aurora, Arlington Heights, Lisle, Bartlett, Geneva, Lombard, Elgin, and Elmhurst.

The demonstrations are set for varying times, including:

  • Bolingbrook: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Janes Ave. & Boughton Rd.
  • Joliet: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mall Loop Dr. & Route 30
  • Chicago: Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Butler Field in Grant Park
  • Naperville: Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Municipal Center on Eagle St.

Organizers emphasize that the “No Kings” movement is rooted in nonviolent action, urging participants to de-escalate any conflicts and avoid bringing weapons to events.

The coalition behind the protests includes national advocacy groups such as the ACLU, MoveOn, 350 Action, and Human Rights Campaign. Their stated message: “No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.”

Police across the Chicago area have not reported any expected disruptions but encourage drivers to plan around potential traffic near protest locations.
