Sterling, IL – Two northern Illinois residents were arrested this week following a narcotics investigation led by the Illinois State Police Blackhawk Area Task Force (BATF) with assistance from local agencies.
According to the Illinois State Police, the arrests took place Thursday after BATF agents worked alongside the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Dixon Police Department. Officials said 47-year-old Ricky C. Griffin Jr. of Dixon was taken into custody on allegations of delivering cocaine and a controlled substance. In a separate case, 30-year-old Allison R. Dunne of Amboy was arrested on allegations of delivering methamphetamine.
The BATF, which includes law enforcement personnel from ISP and agencies across Carroll, Henry, Lee, Stark, and Whiteside counties in Illinois, as well as Clinton County in Iowa, said its agents are focused on interagency operations targeting drug trafficking in the region.
Authorities stated the investigation remains open and ongoing, and no additional information was immediately available.
The Illinois State Police emphasized that charges are not evidence of guilt and both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
