Crest Hill, IL – A 25-year-old man from Crest Hill has been arrested on allegations of threatening a Department of Human Services provider, according to Illinois State Police.

According to Illinois State Police Troop 3, Jacob Baker was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with threatening a Department of Human Services provider, a Class 3 felony, and telephone harassment, a Class B misdemeanor. Investigators said the alleged threat was first reported on May 21.

Authorities said Special Agents with the ISP Division of Criminal Investigation conducted a review of the allegations and arrested Baker on September 4 without incident. He was later booked into the Will County Adult Detention Center.

The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed the charges against Baker, who is being held pending court proceedings. No further details about the nature of the alleged threat have been released.

Police emphasized that the charges are not evidence against the defendant, and Baker is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
