Davenport, IA – Residents across the Quad Cities region can expect summer-like warmth heading into the weekend, with dry conditions persisting through early next week.

According to the US National Weather Service Quad Cities, patchy valley fog may develop late Thursday night into Friday morning, but otherwise skies will remain clear. Highs Friday are forecast to reach between 81 and 84 degrees, with overnight lows in the mid-50s.

The warming trend continues Saturday, with temperatures climbing to 82–86 degrees under sunny skies. Sunday is expected to be the warmest day, with highs between 83 and 87 degrees. Lows will hover in the mid- to upper-50s.

Forecasters note the pattern of warm, dry weather will stretch into next week, providing favorable conditions for outdoor plans, late-season yard work, and fall sports. The unseasonably high temperatures mark a sharp contrast to the cooler, early fall weather often seen in late September across Iowa and Illinois.

Drivers are urged to use caution during the morning commute Friday due to reduced visibility in fog-prone valleys. Otherwise, no major weather disruptions are expected.

This stretch of clear, warm weather may provide one last taste of summer before seasonal cold fronts begin arriving in October.
