Forecasters say snow squalls, while short-lived, can produce sudden whiteout conditions, rapid visibility drops, and localized slick spots. Snow accumulations are expected to remain minor, generally under one inch, but even light snowfall can quickly coat roadways when combined with gusty winds.
The highest risk period is expected this afternoon through early evening, when winds and snowfall intensity may peak. Officials warn that conditions can change within minutes, catching drivers off guard.
