Quad Cities, IA/IL – The unseasonably warm and sunny weather across the Quad Cities region is set to continue into the first days of October, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will remain well above average this weekend, with highs near 80 to 86 degrees on Sunday and climbing into the mid-to-upper 80s on Monday and Tuesday. Overnight lows are expected in the mid-50s to near 60 degrees.
According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, the only notable weather risk is a slight chance of patchy river valley fog early Sunday morning, though the probability remains below 20 percent. Otherwise, the pattern will stay dry and stable.
Meteorologists note that current highs are running 10 to 15 degrees warmer than seasonal averages. For many across eastern Iowa and western Illinois, that means September will close out and October will begin with conditions that feel more like late summer than fall.
The forecast calls for sunny skies each day with only minimal moderation in temperatures. By midweek, highs are expected to stay in the mid-to-upper 80s before slowly trending downward later in the week.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the stretch of pleasant weather while it lasts, with cooler fall conditions expected to arrive in early October.
