The kiosks, located at 2701 S. Dirksen Parkway on the center’s north side, are open 24/7. Temporary documents are printed on-site, while permanent cards are mailed within 15 business days.
Most Illinois drivers are required to renew licenses every four years, while vehicle registrations and stickers must be updated annually. Renewal notices mailed to motorists contain a barcode and PIN needed to use the kiosks.
Officials noted the kiosks provide a lower-cost and more convenient option compared to currency exchanges or emissions testing sites. However, first-time applicants and those seeking REAL IDs must still complete services in person.
During regular hours, the Springfield Flagship Center remains open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, for walk-in and appointment-based services.
