Chicago, IL – Illinois DMV facilities are adjusting their hours starting today to better accommodate customer demand. Locations across the state will now open earlier to assist more residents.

Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced the change, noting that DMV offices will open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This adjustment gives customers an extra half hour in the morning to handle their DMV needs. The new hours aim to reduce wait times and provide greater convenience for Illinois residents.

According to the Secretary of State’s office, DMV facilities offering Saturday services will also change hours, now opening from 7:30 a.m. to noon. This update affects all DMV offices statewide, streamlining services for motorists looking to renew licenses, update vehicle registrations, and access other essential services.

The shift in hours comes as part of a broader effort to improve customer service and efficiency in Illinois DMV operations. Residents are encouraged to visit DMV locations during the new hours to benefit from the extended time.
