Elmhurst, IL – Three Cook County individuals are facing felony charges following a stolen vehicle investigation that led to a 130-mph police chase. A fourth person faces separate weapons charges.

According to DuPage County prosecutors, the theft occurred on February 11, 2025, at Al Piemonte Buick GMC in Elmhurst. Authorities allege a stolen Cadillac SUV crashed through the dealership’s service doors. Suspects then stole a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT worth $53,975. Shortly after, police pursued the stolen Jeep on I-88 and I-290, where it allegedly reached 130 mph.

Officers deployed spike strips, but the Jeep swerved, nearly hitting an Oak Brook officer. The vehicle lost control near 17th Street, and four suspects fled on foot across I-290. With air support from a Chicago Police helicopter, all were apprehended.

Police recovered a Glock 20 handgun and a stolen Springfield Armory 9mm Hellcat. The suspects face multiple felony charges, including aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle, burglary, and unlawful use of a weapon.

Court appearances are set for March 7 and March 17, 2025. Authorities remind the public that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
