Minooka, IL – Students at Minooka Intermediate and Minooka Junior High Schools set a new fundraising record this week, raising $16,914.79 in support of Pink Heals Joliet Area Chapter, a nonprofit organization that assists families facing cancer and other serious illnesses.

According to Pink Heals Joliet, both schools united their efforts for the annual fundraiser, combining creativity and community spirit. Minooka Intermediate students sold shirts and sweatshirts through a local vendor, hosted raffles, and ran penny wars. Minooka Junior High added to the total with a Walk-a-thon that featured music, games, and prizes—all in the name of supporting local families in need.

The organization’s signature pink firetruck and police car were on-site Friday to celebrate the achievement and thank students for their record-breaking contribution. Volunteers from Pink Heals praised the schools’ teamwork and enthusiasm, calling the donation “outstanding” and “a true reflection of community love and support.”

Minooka CCSD 201 shared appreciation for the students, staff, and families who made the event a success. The total marks one of the highest single-school fundraising efforts for the Joliet-area chapter to date.
