Geneva, IL – The Kane County Cougars, a baseball franchise with roots dating back to 1888, have been sold to REV Entertainment. The change in ownership marks a new chapter for the longtime Illinois team.
According to team Chairman Dr. Bob Froehlich, the sale aims to secure the Cougars’ future in Minor League Baseball. Froehlich acknowledged the contributions of fans, players, and staff, highlighting the team’s recent 2024 championship run.
REV Entertainment, which manages Globe Life Field and other sports venues, will take over operations. The group has experience overseeing minor league teams and entertainment events. The financial details of the sale have not been disclosed.
The Kane County Cougars have been a key part of Illinois’ baseball history for over a century. Under new ownership, the franchise is expected to remain in the community while continuing its tradition in minor league baseball.
