Davenport, IA – After a stretch of mild weather, residents in eastern Iowa and western Illinois should prepare for a renewed round of stormy conditions by midweek.
According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities office, scattered rain chances will develop Tuesday, with spotty light rain likely during the afternoon and diminishing in the evening. A more significant weather threat is expected Thursday, with the potential for isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing hail.
Winds will stay steady through the week at 10 to 20 mph out of the northwest, with temperatures gradually climbing. Tuesday highs will reach the low to mid 50s, and by Thursday, parts of the region may see temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. Northeast Missouri could warm slightly more, with temperatures potentially exceeding 60 degrees.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk for severe weather Thursday, citing hail as the primary threat. While widespread storms are not expected, isolated strong cells may persist through Thursday night.
Residents in the Quad Cities and surrounding areas are advised to stay weather-aware and monitor local alerts. Ensure outdoor items are secured, and consider sheltering vehicles if hail-producing storms develop late Thursday.
