Illinois Ambulance Crash Sends Five to Hospital Following Friday Afternoon Collision

Minooka, IL – Five people were hospitalized Friday afternoon after a Minooka ambulance was involved in a two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection.

According to the Minooka Fire Protection District, emergency crews were dispatched around 3 p.m. to the intersection of Ridge Road and Wildey Road. Upon arrival, responders found a passenger vehicle upright and an ambulance overturned on its driver’s side.

The ambulance had been transporting a patient at the time of the crash. A total of five individuals sustained injuries in the collision and were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately available.

Multiple ambulances were called to the scene to assist with transporting the injured. Departments from Channahon, Troy, Morris, and Oswego provided on-site support, while Plainfield, Lisbon-Seward, East Joliet, and others maintained station coverage.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Minooka Police Department and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
