Spokane, Washington – Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect across northern Idaho as snow continues to impact travel conditions from late Wednesday night into Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, additional snowfall of up to 3 inches is expected in the Northern Panhandle, including Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry, Priest River, Athol, Clark Fork, Eastport, and along Schweitzer Mountain Road. This advisory remains in effect until 4 a.m. PST Thursday.

Farther south, the Central Panhandle Mountains are expected to see more significant snowfall. Forecast totals range from 1 to 8 inches through Thursday afternoon in areas including Mullan, Kellogg, Wallace, Osburn, Pinehurst, St. Maries, and along mountain passes such as Lookout Pass, Fourth of July Pass, and Dobson Pass. The advisory for this region remains in effect until 4 p.m. PST Thursday.

Roads, bridges, and overpasses are expected to become slick and hazardous, particularly during the Thursday morning commute. Higher elevations and mountain passes may experience reduced visibility and difficult travel conditions as snow continues.

Motorists are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and use caution when driving. For the latest road conditions in Idaho, travelers are encouraged to call 511 before heading out.
