Pocatello, ID – A winter weather advisory is in effect for several mountain ranges in Idaho, including the Bear River Range, Caribou Range, and Big Hole Mountains, until 6 PM MDT on Tuesday. The National Weather Service warns of continued snow accumulation, with up to 4 inches expected in some areas, and up to 6 inches in the Bear River Range.
According to the National Weather Service, the snow is expected to cause hazardous conditions, particularly impacting travel in these regions. Slippery roads are anticipated, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Cities such as Island Park, Victor, and Dubois may see the heaviest snowfall.
Additional snow is also forecast for areas above 6,000 feet, including the Marsh and Arbon Highlands and Franklin/Eastern Oneida Region. Drivers are urged to slow down and exercise caution when traveling in affected areas. The storm is expected to clear by the evening, but conditions may remain treacherous for commuters.
